Principal Solutions Architect

Job Summary: 

As a Principal DevOps Engineer at River Point Technology, you will be a senior member of our Delivery team, leading the design, implementation, and management of internal and external DevOps infrastructure. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping our DevOps strategy, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of customer systems, and mentoring and guiding junior team members.

Responsibilities: 

• • Develop and implement the overall DevOps strategy, aligning it with customer business objectives and technology roadmaps.
  • Lead the implementation of IaC practices, architecture, and standards using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Architect and manage sophisticated CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
  • Oversee the management and optimization of container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, ensuring optimal resource utilization and high availability.
  • Drive automation initiatives, developing advanced scripts and automation solutions to streamline operations.
  • Enhance security practices across infrastructure and applications, including vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and compliance checks.
  • Lead incident response efforts, driving post-incident reviews and improvements.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the River Point Delivery team, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.

Requirements: 

• • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or related IT role
  • Superior knowledge of Linux/Unix administration
  • Advanced experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, or Terraform
  • Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, MS Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong understanding of software development and release processes
  • 3 or more years of project leadership
  • Desire to lead and mentor junior team members

Preferred Qualifications: 

• • Expert level knowledge and experience with  HashiCorp products:
    • Terraform
    • Vault
    • Consul
    • Nomad
    • Packer
  • Expert knowledge and experience with GitLab
  • Solid understanding of K8s platform
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Hashi, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.
